Financial Assistance at Trident Healthcare Institute
At Trident Healthcare Institute, we believe that financial barriers should never prevent you from pursuing a career in healthcare. That’s why we offer multiple flexible options to support students in funding their education.
Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP)
Trident Healthcare Institute is eligible for OSAP funding, which provides a mix of grants (non-repayable) and loans (repayable).
Who can apply?
- Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or protected persons.
- Ontario residents who have lived in the province for at least 12 months before starting studies.
Key Benefits
- Grants may reduce tuition significantly.
- Interest-free grace period: repayment begins 6 months after graduation.
- Students with disabilities may qualify for additional aid.
Flexible Payment Plans
For students paying privately, we offer customized installment plans to spread tuition costs over time.
Example – PSW Program:
- Total program cost: $4,500 CAD (including tuition, books, uniform, and exam fee)
- Payment plan: 6 installments (starting from $500, then equal payments).
This makes education more accessible without the burden of a lump-sum payment.
Employer-Sponsored Support
Through our partnerships with Hamilton Health Sciences, St. Joseph’s Home Care, and local long-term care providers, eligible students may access:
- Tuition reimbursement programs
- Signing bonuses tied to employment commitments
- Service-based loan forgiveness opportunities
Scholarships & Grants
We work with government, non-profit, and community partners to connect students with available healthcare scholarships, bursaries, and grants, including:
- Ontario Learn and Stay Grant
- Nursing Education Initiative (for upskilling professionals)
- Community-based sponsorships

- Student Line of Credit: Available through most Canadian banks, with flexible repayment terms.
